Nato nel 1970, a Poitiers, esordisce come autodidatta nei primi anni ‘90, all’epoca del cinema, come fotografo nella stampa sportiva regionale. Per trovare un posto nella professione, si è trasferito a Parigi, dove ha lavorato per importanti agenzie fotografiche e media specializzati in notizie sportive internazionali. Nel 2002 si è dedicato all’Africa e alla fauna selvatica dei grandi mammiferi terrestri. Nel 2007, dopo 5 anni di riprese nella savana, ha iniziato a mostrare le sue istantanee di animali selvatici catturati sul posto, istintivamente. Nel 2009 ha pubblicato il suo primo lavoro basato sul suo lavoro africano: «Terre des Lions» poi nel 2011 «D’ivoire & d ́ébène». Nel 2013, è diventato ambasciatore di buona volontà
per il Programma delle Nazioni Unite per l’ambiente e ha partecipato alla campagna anti-bracconaggio Wild & Precious. Lodate per la loro forza estetica e autenticità, le foto di Laurent sono oggetto di libri, pubblicazioni, mostre, conferenze e sono esposte in gallerie in Francia e all’estero.

In 2002 he turned to Africa and the wildlife of large land mammals. In 2007, after 5 years of shooting in the savannah, he began to show his snapshots of wildlife captured on the spot, instinctively. In 2009, he published his first work based on his African work: «Terre des Lions» then in 2011 «D’ivoire & d ́ébène». In 2013, he became a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program and participated
in the Wild & Precious anti-poaching campaign. Praised for their aesthetic strength and authenticity, Laurent’s photos are the subject of books, publications, exhibitions, conferences and are shown in galleries in France and abroad.
